Meditation is the process of quieting the busy mind by many techniques such as concentrating on the breath, acknowledging a though and letting it go, or being aware of a sound and naming it to move on letting go so not getting caught up in your own illusions. This restful awareness has been around for hundreds of years but is now being validated by scientific research as an age old practice having powerful health benefits both physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Qi gong is a holistic system of coordinated body posture and movement, breathing, and meditation used for health, spirituality, and martial arts training.
The essential principles include mind integrated with the body; control of movements and breathing; generating internal energy, mindfulness, song (loosening) and jing (serenity).
During the purification process you are using the sound of the singing bowl, along with your vibrational intention, which you tap into from deep within your heart, to transform negative energy to positive energy. While sitting in silence you will use the pure element of water as the bridge to cleanse your body, mind and soul.
The class will involve an introduction to the ideas behind meditation, how it works from psychological and neuroscientific points of view, as well as instructions for the meditation itself.
